Group R&D and Innovation Manager

About the role
We're looking for a dynamic Group Manager – R&D and Innovation to lead our research and development, drive breakthrough product innovation, and ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget. Reporting to the CEO, this is a key leadership role where you'll shape the future of our products and make a significant impact on our business and customers.
You will be working on a wide range of projects that encompass everything from web-based tools and AI automation to systems integration and mechanical design. This will mean getting on site, testing, learning from key stakeholders, and incorporating your own design experience to deliver a positive result.
Your responsibilities will include:
- overseeing the end-to-end management of R&D projects, from strategic prioritisation and planning through to execution and completion,
- coordinating cross-functional collaboration, monitor progress, resolve issues, and report on key milestones and outcomes to stakeholders,
- assessing appropriate external and internal design resource required to complete projects successfully
- carrying out design tasks and testing
- overseeing the research and development of new products, technologies, and processes to drive business growth
- continuously evaluating and improving R&D processes to optimise efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness,
- leading, mentoring, and managing current and future R&D team members to ensure high performance and continuous development.
You'll have/be:
- a Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science or a related field,
- a minimum of 8 years’ experience in a product development related role,
- strong knowledge of relevant industry standards, product development methodologies and best practices,
- excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills,
- ability to think critically and creatively, with a focus on delivering innovative solutions.
